Jakarta - Clashes between officials and citizens continue to happen lately. Whatconcrete solutions to overcome conflicts between officials and citizens?

Vice Chairman of Commission III Tjatur Sapto Edy assessing officials and residentsclashed prevention should start from the problem initially. Lately, residents andofficials clashed occur because citizens held demonstrations protesting against theexploration permit of Natural Resources (SDA).

According to Tjatur, the main problem is lack of wise head region, in this case the Regent, in giving consent to the processing of Natural Resources of the company.

"The first one so now's the time of issue of regional autonomy that the Regent'spermission. This is an important moment for all Regents in Indonesia for permissionSDA wise discipline. They have to listen to the aspirations of the people in anylicensing or issuing permits that have been issued, do not carelessly," said Tjaturtold AFP on Monday (25/12/2011).

According to Tjatur in giving consent processing natural resources, including mining permits, the Regent should consider the interests of the people. Because after the SDA is state property that is used for the benefit of the people.

"Because it's basically a state-owned natural resources and that means belongs to the people. Now it seems the regent's power, it should not be so," he remembers.
