Ende-Two iron sand mining companies operating in Ende, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, finally willing to suspend exploration activities.

Both companies are PT Grand Victory Recources, which has a Mining Business Permit (IUP) exploration of iron sands 2010-2015 period. They get the IUP area covering 132 hectares (ha) in the District of North Ende, Ende, and Nangapanda.

Other mining companies, CV Rahmad Raya, who also pocketed IUP exploration with an area of ​​5.726 ha WIUP, Nggorea Village, District Nangapanda.

"We received a letter from the Department of Mining few days ago, so we are new in this week's stop," said Manager of PT Grand Victory Recources, Zulkifli DM, Thursday (15/12/2011), in Ende.

Previously, the company from Surabaya, East Java, it did not heed the appeal letter from the Department of Mines and Energy Ende. The letter was issued October 19, 2011, whose contents require mining companies suspending their exploration activities.

Appeal was issued, in connection with the pros and cons emerge in the community regarding the iron sand mining.

Ende government in 2010 had issued 20 IUP, including iron sands exploration permits.

But 20 IUP is the number of people considered to be illegal, because the Ende Regency issued a mining permit was referring to Ende Regulation No 28 of 2002 on Mining.

IUP should be issued referring to Law No. 4 / 2009 on Mineral and Coal Mining.

While the design of new mining regulations, as the derivative of the current legislation is still being discussed in parliament Ende.

Companies are allowed back in operation, after the draft regulations on mining the new set, so there is certainty of the law governing mining activities.

Meanwhile,then Head of CV Rahmad Raya, Mohamad Wajo Pua, when confirmed said it has stopped exploration.

"Actually, this appeal from the Department of Mining awkward. Permission has been issued, but then for no apparent reason we were asked to suspend exploration activities. And we also have to wait long this permission. We have proposed this mining permit since 2006," said Mohamad.

Separately, the Director of the Center for the Study and Advocacy (Pusam) Indonesia, Cesar Bara Bheri, suspect, Ende Regency issued a 20 IUP was used as a money machine to deal with local elections (elections) in 2013.

There are indications 20 IUP was issued in a hurry, in order to reap funds from investors for capital interests for certain officials who will dive in the elections of 2013.
