Banpu injecting additional capital into Indonesia
Jakarta-Giant coal Thailand, Banpu, announced that it has budgeted investments worth U.S. $ 600 million or around Rp 5, 5 trillion, for an additional investment in mining operations in Australia and Indonesia in 2012.
Chief Financial Somrudee Chaimongkol Banpu, reported The Nation, said the budget of U.S. $ 600 million is largely derived from the company's cash flow.
This year, Banpu's coal sales target figure of 46 million tons. Approximately 27 million tons came from mines Indonesia, 16 million tonnes of Australian operations and the remaining 3 million tonnes from China.
Banpu operations conducted in Indonesia with PT Indo Tambangraya Tbk, which has five subsidiaries ; PT Indominco Mandiri, PT Trubaindo Coal Mining, PT Jorong Barutama Greston dan PT Kitadin (Embalut), PT Bharinto Ekatama serta PT Kitadin (Tandung Mayang).
PT.Indominco Mandiri holds contracts Coal Cooperation Agreement (PKP2B) with the initial area of 100,000 hectares, which is then gradually released to be 25 121 hectares, in the District of Bontang, Kertanegara and East Kutai Kutai, East Kalimantan province.
PT Trubaindo Coal Mining holds PKP2B with the initial 100,000 hectare concession area is then gradually released up to 23,650 hectares, is located at Muara District Lawa, Bentian Large, Muara Pahu and Peace, West Kutai Regency of East Kalimantan province.
PT Jorong Barutama Greston holding PKP2B with the initial 100,000 hectare concession area that is gradually released until the remaining 11 478 hectares, located 100 kilometers south of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan provincial capital.
PT Kitadin Mining holds two (KP) for Embalut force since February 25, 2009 until February 25, 2013, while for Tandung Mayang valid from May 28, 2008 until May 28, 2018.
PT Kitadin (Embalut) covers an area of 2973 hectares in the village Embalut, Kutai regency, East Kalimantan.
PT Kitadin (Tandung Mayang) has a concession area of 2338 hectares and located in Tandung Mayang, in East Kutai regency, East Kalimantan. This subsidiary also operates as a contractor in the mining concession of PT Mandiri Indominco.
PT Bharinto Ekatama holding PKP2B with initial area covering 93,100 hectares which is gradually released to be 22,000 hectares in East Kutai regency and Barito North, East and Central Kalimantan province.
