Freeport Cooperate AKR Corporindo Supply Biosolar for Mining Equipment
Jakarta - The plan of PT Freeport Indonesia will cooperate with PT AKR Corporindo to supply biofuels (BBN) types of biodiesel in the mining sector. Until now Freeport are testing the use of biodiesel for weighing equipment.
According to Vice President of Environment Freeport Indonesia, Andi Mukhisa, it has set up as many as 160,000 liters of biodiesel as the trial process.
"Mining we are in the height of 4,000 feet, so we had to did the trial to ensure fuel does not freeze during use, "he said as quoted by Investor Daily, Jakarta, Thursday (14/11).
However, it could not confirm how long the last stage of this trial. He was also reluctant to mention the total requirement of fuel oil (BBM) for the Freeport mining operations. If the trial is a success, then certainly it would continue to cooperate with the AKR in procuring biodiesel, he said.
